Another Beautiful Staple of Columbus History
Once a hotbed of Italian immigrants, Italian Village has seen an incredible resurgence lately, bringing in new dining, shopping, and living spaces.
Italian Village is just east of High Street, south of OSU campus and north of downtown. Italianate and Queen Anne homes fill this neighborhood with a mix of beautiful, historic architecture including the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with newer development of modern residential homes, condos and apartments.
The recently renovated Italian Village Park offers a playground and a place to picnic in the midst of the bustling Short North. The area is a breeding ground for new businesses, artists, and restaurants. The retail store Homage originated in Italian Village and popular local brewery Seventh Son Brewing and Hoof Hearted are also located in Italian Village.
The biggest attraction each year is the annual Columbus Italian Festival which brings a taste of local Italian restaurants, music, a bocce tournament, and Columbus Day parade. The whole city comes out for this festival to eat, watch, and enjoy.
