A Local’s Guide to Tremont Center and Upper Arlington

A Local’s Guide to Tremont Center and Upper Arlington

Around Tremont Center, longtime favorites sit alongside newer additions, creating a part of the neighborhood where it’s easy to grab groceries, pick up something sweet, find your next book or spend an afternoon outside.

Vutech | Ruff agent Emily Ahlering takes us to four of her local favorites: Littleton’s Market, The Original Goodie Shop, Storyline Bookshop and Northam Park.

Littleton’s Market

Littleton’s Market has quickly become a go-to at Tremont Center. Part gourmet market, part café and restaurant, it’s just as easy to stop in for groceries as it is to meet someone for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Inside, you’ll find fresh produce, meat and seafood, specialty groceries, wine and beer, along with a few things you didn’t necessarily have on your shopping list.

The Original Goodie Shop

The Original Goodie Shop opened in 1955 and has been family-owned ever since. Now in its third generation, the Tremont Center bakery is still known for the donuts, cookies, cakes, pastries and breads that have kept local families coming back for decades.

And if you know, you know: the cinnamon sticks are a local favorite.

But what really makes The Goodie Shop special is the history behind it. For plenty of Upper Arlington families, a stop here has been part of Saturday mornings, birthdays and celebrations for years.

Storyline Bookshop

A more recent addition to Tremont Center, Storyline Bookshop opened in 2024 as an independent, woman-owned neighborhood bookstore.

You’ll find books for all ages, gifts, and plenty of reasons to stay awhile. Storyline also hosts book clubs, author events, story times and other gatherings that make it a community space as much as a bookstore.

It may be one of the newer businesses in the area, but it fits right in with the neighborhood feel that makes Tremont Center what it is.

Northam Park

Nearby Northam Park offers 22 acres including a playground, tennis courts, baseball and softball facilities, trails, picnic areas and plenty of green space. It’s also home to community events throughout the year, including the annual Labor Day Arts Festival.

Whether it’s a tennis match, a walk, an afternoon at the playground or simply some time outside, Northam Park is one of those places that naturally becomes part of everyday life when you live nearby.

Living in Upper Arlington

Knowing Upper Arlington means knowing more than the homes and streets. It means knowing the places people return to again and again.

It’s where you grab something for dinner, where you take the kids on a Saturday afternoon, where you pick up a birthday cake and where you unexpectedly spend an hour browsing books.

That local knowledge is part of how the Vutech | Ruff team helps clients get to know Upper Arlington beyond real estate.
